Josip started sailing initially in the Optimist class, at the age of 8, representing the country at the Opti European Championship in 2002. Shortly after, transitioned to Laser, progressing from Laser 4.7 to Laser Standard within 3 years due to height and weight constraints. From 2007 to 2021, sailed in the Finn class, achieving European youth champion status in Helsinki in 2011. Engaged in a serious Olympic campaign for Tokyo 2020. In 2018, secured 5th place at the European Championship in Cadiz. Despite narrowly missing qualification for the Tokyo Olympics, graduated from university with a degree in business and economics in 2016.
